- Have a plan addressing your marketing which is at least 6 months forward looking.
- Start to plan that next six month period at least 3 months ahead.
- Begin by looking back at events you have to anniversary for the same period last year. Will you repeat them, or, replace them with some other event or promotional strategy
- Keep your planning document with you at market or while laying out and editing your buy. Add in any opportunities you find for new events or promotions.
- Work backward from events and notate the timing of floorsets, store signage, direct mail or, email, and other social media announcements. Assign each created marketing task to ateam member at the same time.
